Another week, more successes, more great activities and more great offers.
If you are an Alan Fletcher Golf customer or student, or you are a Girton Member, we continually try to push the boundary to make sure you enjoy, improve and play better golf. For me, I have thoroughly enjoyed watching the Olympics and whether you're a fan of golf in the games or not, it must be said Justin Rose was a great winner for Team GB and for the game of golf.
Along with Justin Rose's win over Henrick Stenson, there is nothing more motivating than watching elite athletes push themselves to the limit to win a gold medal. Watching Sunday night and seeing all those gold and silver medals fly in for team GB was incredible!
It is amazing to see these athletes test, push and challenge themselves to see how good they can be. As a golfer how often do you push yourself, try something different to improve your performance, whether it be your first round under 100 or winning the Club Championship. STOP doing the same old thing and expecting different results...
Has Golf dogma hurt your game?
You know what I am talking about. The constant sayings, thoughts and beliefs that golfers seem to get in their head, that they have been told by their high handicap friends. Here is a few of my favourites:
Keep your head down - After a topped shot - Poor Advice!
Swing Slowly - Not sure any golfer wanted to hit it shorter?
Keep your left arm straight - I hope you know your mobility?
Try to get underneath it more - The ball sits on the floor...
If you have heard, said or attempted any of these with little success then it is time to change. You can talk to me anytime about any of these and more...
Ella Mason continues to get better - After her successes in the past four weeks, Ella won the East Region Girls Nett prize and reduced her handicap further to 8.5. A great four weeks has seen her drop from 12.7 to 8.5.
Morgan Tritton - Morgan has worked so hard on her game and it was great to see she won The Gogs Stroke Play Event and saw her handicap cut from 15.7 to 14.5.
Josh Hulyer - Josh had a great result shooting a gross 75 at Gog Magog to get cut from 12.7 to 10.8.
Paula Atkin - Paula has played so well over the past three weeks and finally, after a great amount of effort got her handicap back to 14 from 16, even though we all know it could be even lower. Still time this summer Paula!
There are of course many great stories, but these three have really stood out over the past week.

PING Club Fitting Weekend - Friday, 19 August - Sunday, 21 August
We all have unique swing characteristics which is why it's so important to get custom fitted. By actually seeing the ball in flight you'll be get a proper understanding of how a custom fitting will benefit you, and using the latest technology we can determine the right clubs for your game.
We'll assess your ball speed, talk spin rates, launch angles and smash factor, and by trialling numerous shafts, we'll find the spec that's right for you - so you achieve greater distance, tighter dispersion and more consistent results.
