Well although the weekend was cold and a bit windy, it was great to see so many players out in force in the Sponsored Medal, I hope you all enjoyed playing with the New Wilson Dx2 Ball and hopefully you still have both of them after your round!
I was lucky enough the run our annual County Girls training weekend at Lakeside lodge, normally a freezing cold windy event and this year didn't disappoint. What also didn't disappoint was the quality of our County girls team, progressing brilliantly so early in the season, this could be a fantastic year for Cambridgeshire Girls Team.
We have some great things planned for the Masters and your April golf and the Pro Shop is really buzzing.
Firstly I would also like to call out to all our members who own businesses in the local area. As you know we had huge success with our PGA Pro Am last season and I am actively looking for Hole Sponsors and a Title sponsor for this year's event.
There are plenty of packages which include entry into the event as well as advertising opportunities. If you are interested in hearing more about these packages then please contact me on 01223276169 or email me here

Ladies PING Rhapsody Woods
The Rhapsody driver brings the Turbulator first seen on the PING G30 driver to the women's game. This driver is designed to maximise speed and distance from slower swing speeds. The distinctive pearl colour driver has a 12º loft which is adjustable through 5 settings, giving a range of +/- 1º to fine tune trajectory.
From custom fitting for many hours in the previous few months the results on on the PING Rhapsody driver and fairway woods has been fantastic. Players immediately saw different results from testing this product.
The fairway woods where most impressive, The club produces a much higher launch and trajectory to give you a better ball flight and overall distance.
On an upslope, take a longer club because the slope of the hill adds loft to the clubface. Play the ball slightly more forward than normal, and try to get your shoulders parallel to the hill. If your shoulders are too level, the clubhead will enter the ground too steeply at impact.
You should also adjust your aim to the right, the more severe the slope, the further you will have to aim. This is due to lack of lower body rotation and your arms and hands release early closing the clubface.
On a downslope, take less club because the hill will reduce the loft on the clubface. Position the ball back a little and, as with the uphill lie, feel as if you set your shoulders parallel to the slope.
The opposite of a uphill lie, you will have to aim left, due to lack of arm and hand rotation through the ball and the clubface stays open. All references are for a right handed golfer.
