Well what a Masters!
It was great to see a top player like Jordan Spieth smash a number of records at Augusta last weekend, but also great to see players like Phil Mickelson, Justin Rose and Rory Mcilroy at the top of the leaderboard. Moreover, this Masters went to show that Tiger hasn't got the yips and could be fighting for some more tournaments this season. An in form Spieth, Mcilroy and Woods would be compelling viewing and almost certianly help golf.
The winners of the Master's draw are as follows:
1st Place - Peter Adams
T2nd Place - John O Hannan
T2nd Place - Sue Hill
4th Place - Hugh Carlisle
5th Place - Bill Moon
Please feel free to collect your prizes from the pro shop, and thank you for entering.
So off the back of this great week has it got your juices flowing to play more golf? I really hope so, let's get out on those fairways make the most of this great weather that is about to hit us and invest and enjoy our game.
We continue to push to boundaries in the pro shop to help promote Girton Golf Club and push the golf club further forward. This Monday saw Dean and myself take some interesting trips to get in the media to help promote your golf club. Dean went on BBC Cambridgeshire 8.30am Monday morning to talk to Sport Presenter Sam Edwards about the Masters and also what is happening at Girton. We have already had some interest for membership.
Whilst Dean's dulcet tones cruised the airways, I was down at Wentworth with Callaway Golf filming a Sky Sports advert for the promotion of the new Callaway XR range to be aired on Sky Sports in June.
The plus sign is that Girton Golf Club will be written on the screen! Who would of thought that 3 years ago?
And while we had radio and TV covered, Matthew Pratt was being interviewed by the Cambridge Evening News about his selection to attend this year's open Championship as a green keeper, representing Girton again on a top golfing stage!
What a busy start to the week!
New Look for Pro Shop Team
After the new-look winter image of the Pro Shop staff with our blue wind shirts, we have invested in our new look for summer.
With 7 different colours, and some bright ones at that, it is great to be able to represent Girton and give our staff the professional look that the golf club deserves.
I am a big believer that the image, look and attitude of your staff are a real reflection on what you are about as a golf club and I hope you agree that the team will look smart this summer!
Dean here is modelling our Monday Pink shirt!
