Did anyone see Rory take the field apart last week on the US PGA Tour? That guy is awesome, totally in control of his golf game, his emotions, his physical shape and his bank balance. This week sees him defend his PGA Title at Wentworth. It is not just the top Pro's that are playing though, your professional team are getting involved with some great events.
Last week Ryan competed in the Jamega Tour, after a first round one under par followed by a one over par second round, Ryan managed to finish in the top 20, with his game pushing forward each and every week.
Monday I travelled to Oxford to represent Girton in the Foremost Championship. A very blowy, windy day took its toll, although I and the rest of my group battled hard against 45mph winds, hail stones and heavy rain we didn't battle hard enough. The good news is there is some things to work on before my next event with Ryan which is the PGA Fourball Championship qualifier.
Congrats to the Ladies
I am very proud of my students who played in the County Championship at St Ives last weekend, With Jane McGuffog
getting to the quarter-finals only to be beaten by another student, Marcella Tuttle
who met Sarah Greenall
her friend and Newmarket member (also a student) in the semi-final. After some great games Marcella
lost to Tabitha Brain
in the final. All three players have also been selected to represent Cambs and Hunts in the East Region County Week in June.
Ryan and Dean head to Wentworth
After last's years representation at Woburn for the Travis Perkins Seniors Tour event, I have been asked to go and work at this year's BMW championship. Unfortunately due to a conflict in diary I haven't been able to attend, but lucky for Girton Golf club we have another two teaching professionals that are excited and willing to attend and represent our great golf club at the European Tour's flagship event.
Ryan and Dean will be at the event Tuesday and Wednesday with Dean on the Foresight GC2 launch monitor stand and Ryan on the Mizuno stand. If you're heading down why not swing by the Swingzone centre in the tented village and say hi.
